Eminent domain: n. the right of an authority to appropriate private property for public use.

The girls are so young, yet I am already feeling the pangs of my inevitable loss. After all, they were wholly mine at the beginning, sharing my breath, my blood, my heart. Now, each day that passes they become less so. By fixing a moment of time on film, I am forced to see it, immutable, in relation to the ever-changing present.

If the work were simply about the relationship between me and my children, it would be easier to articulate and define, but it has also become an exploration of my own identity. My sense of self is inextricably linked with them. Where do I end and they begin?
